“Through a Cobweb Strange (waag_rel069)” from Cousin Silas … affectionately referred to as “the disco album” when discussing it with Dave prior to release … is full of beats. In fact, “Through a Cobweb Strange (waag_rel069)” features fifteen downtempo tracks that combine Silas’ particular style of ambient guitar with varying degrees of percussion.
I love the variety of Cousin Silas’ music and gravitate towards different elements depending on my mood. He can and does turn his hand to some exceptional longform drones; dark, atmospheric soundscapes; and lighter, expressive ambient electronica; I have a particular fondness for his tracks with a percussive element and find his version of downtempo electronic music very engaging. I really hope you do too.
